I thought this would be a good place to ask a question...
and since No One has submitted anything into this area, its high time.

My question is about writing "Roleplay"...
Now, I don't mean your run-of-the-mill RP, where the invinciple Hero triumphs over Evil...
No, what I'm talking about is the RP written mostly after the fact.
An actual occurence written with a Fantasy Overtone, where the facts are unaltered, yet have a distinctive Amtgard Flavor...

I have written much over the past two years.
Some of it on the Forum, some of it on the RP List.
Much of what I write accually happened and I write "My Accounts".

How would this style of writing be Catoragized...???

Would it be "Factual" or "Fiction"...??? Or Both...???

I actually have been wondering about that myself. While most of my pieces are home-grown fantasy, I have done more than a few "historical" pieces that sort of paint a picture of what was going on that day in the games and such.

As far as classification...heh, since the facts involved in such a piece are always going to be subject to interpretation, they would still be fiction...not to say that any of the events written/recorded are historically accurate, but all are always greatly subject to the author's version.

But hell post away man, it's not like anyone else is contributing yet..;)

would categorize it as role play since the story still includes the fantasy elements of what happened and not an actual acount.

Example, we would normally write: "...and I turned around to see the Demon Prince in full battle rage sucking the life from a pesant warrior."

That would be fiction as opposed to: "...and I turned around to see Wolverine, as a Demon Prince, using his drain life ability on a new player."

IMO it is the fantasy we are trying to recreate in the way we write about the days events that make it fiction, even though it is based on the events at the park.

with a little creativity, some boasting and the occasional lie, any skirmish, battle, or event can be and should turned into a grand story.
