After years studying magic Old Coyote returned home to Mourningwood Glen. He helped fight off krakens, vampires, and all other manner of creatures. Every time they stopped one enemy others soon came crawling out of the woods. He decided to truly clean the land he would need to lead the residence of the glen against this curse on the land. With the help of his local Paladin Kenta Redhawk, Old Coyote rallied his forces in their first battle against this plague. A small pack of festrogs, hideously malformed, hairless, pustule-covered corpses that move and snarls more like undead hounds than undead men, started to advance out of the woods. When word of these creatures reach Old Coyote, he wasted no time in gathering the citizens. The Baron's eagerness lead to early casualties. Lacking experience in commanding such a large force, Old Coyote called for his champion to help command the troops. Within the hour the festrog alpha was slain scattering the pack back into the woods. This was the last straw, Old Coyote declared a Crusade against all that infects his home!

Kenta arrived at the battlefield, to see troops in disarray. Old Coyote was trying to hold them together, but the Old Wolf could see that they were ready to break.
"Tyr damn his impatience" Kenta growled. "HOLD THE LINE" he bellowed "WORK IN PAIRS, NO ONE GOES ALONE". He looked towards the magic users...mages all, no healers. "this is the major problem" he decided. "Undead are strong to normal magics and melee, but weak against divine magics". He began to chant, summoning the blessings of Tyr the Even Handed, enchanting each soldier with a blessing of the God. "Now go forth and smite these abominations"

Several hours later....less than half of the force marched home, but they did so in victory.

It was another hot day at the Glen, Old Coyote met new friends and old. Unfortunately the day took a more serious tone, when news that a group of goblins were gathering the remains of Virgil. The name brought back memories of a deal gone wrong.
A while ago Old Coyote allied with the demon, in return Virgil had promised him 350 damned souls. Old Coyote was going to save these souls. The deal was struck Old Coyote used his healing magic to keep the demon army together. Then poof, the demon disappeared and Old Coyote never received his souls.
Old Coyote gathered his forces once again. He gave his commands and off they went.
Soon the glen had all the pieces gathered. Old Coyote went to deliver the final strike and destroy the demon forever. When the weapon was taken from his hand. There stood Virgil next to the Baron.
By gathering the body parts to destroy Old Coyote had accidentally revived Virgil. After giving his thanks Virgil disappeared.
Enraged Old Coyote rallied his forces ready to march after Vigil, when Kenta Redhawk spoke up.
"Let us use the demon and his undead for building projects."
Shocked that a paladin would even consisted such a thing Old Coyote was speechless. Was Virgil an enemy or an ally in cleansing the glen of its evils?
