Circle of Monarch said no perm bans. They must be reviewed every 2 years. Personally I think this should be the exception to that ruling

First off this isn't a permanent ban it an indefinite ban until the trial is over. Second, the COM did not vote on a limit to the length of a ban, and did not include any discussion about a limit on the length of a ban in their meeting minutes. The document that governs bans (suspensions in the text) is the Amtgard Code of Conduct. And the CoC Specifically states that the officers may suspend players "for any amount of time they feel appropriate." So "1000 years" is completely allowable. Your confusion might come from the fact that a ban can be overturned. That is why we stopped using the terminology "permanent" and started using "indefinite" instead. Bans with an indefinite length exist until they are overturned, which could be never.

I do not recall the CoM making any mandate on how long a ban can last. Can you please post a link to the document that says this?

Falamar,
They'd rather just go with what's in writing. It works better when we are looking up decisions that happened 2 or 3+ years ago.
Nobody's picking on you or accusing you of anything. Even those of us who haven't hit that 65 year old mark (congrat's on that, btw) have to put things in writing to remember it all accurately.

And you didn't give me any grief over the age comment. Are you sure that you're feeling ok?
