Item #3 on the December Althing is a complete hijack.
> 3.) Anti-Violence Policy- Please choose which option (A or B) you
> would like the Kingdom of the Emerald Hills to adopt as a STAND
> ALONE DOCUMENT.
In other words, the populace is not allowed to decide if either proposal
stands on its own merits. How about "none of the above?"
With amazing prescience, I imagined the item would be placed on the ballot
exactly like this. This is not proper procedure. The way the Althing works
is someone puts forward an item, and if the majority of the populace votes
"aye," then the item passes.
Apparently, even ramming this thing through an emergency Althing
represented too much of an opportunity for allowing people to think for
themselves.
Boo, hiss. Try again, this time using democracy.

No...the most unbelievable part is how many people that only show up about 4-10 times a year will be able to vote on what is affecting the vast majority of the "more active" people asking for a little action.
I think we should have an althing with an agenda diected toward not allowing people who only show up at the parks so they can vote on issues their more active friends have a problem with.

Screw that. I am as active as I am physically able and THAT isn't enough for me to get to vote. Our guidelines are to narrow as it is!
There isn't anyone on these boards that doesn't know who I am. Maybe not by sight but they know me.
I should be able to vote if I was dues paid, but why pay dues if I can't vote?
