The lone figure stood at the foot of the undulating rift.

Sutra lost count of the days gone by. Every fiber of his being listened for any secrets the portal might reveal. He had past the point of disappointment.

The occasional caw echoed in the tree tops.

Much had happened since Sir Forest decided to leave the portal open. Word of his advancing armies toward the portals reached the fathest recesses of the kingdom. Sir Delphos had been declared an outlaw, his capture part of a mandate; saw the massacre of the people of King's Point.

There were no words nor song that captured the lament of baronies people. They simply suffered at the baldes of the black and red tide. His knight had been captured though many a conflicting report had been gathered.

Sir Forest had to answer for the attrocities the Saracens had commited. The king proved to his people that his words had been twisted and perverted for the gain of a few. Czar Forest brought the hammer of justice down upon the guilty. He had even gone as far as freeing the ancient from his temporal prison with the help of Sir Larin.

Sir Kenta and Seal were tried, found guilty of treason and silenced. Even with this just gesture, Sir Forest would be labeled an outlaw by the very people he avenged.

An interesting turn of events indeed.

Rumour that the Hellblazer neared some sort of revalation fluttered on the wind. Nothing more.

The festivities of the middle reign had come and gone. Sutra's heart ached at the reminder of having lapsed in attending, but pressing issues demanded his attention more than ever.

The day turned to night and back again.

The portal stood quiet except for the inaudible murmur of life.

He could feel it course through the land, reaching out towards the heart of the kingdom and beyond. Yet its demands were meet with silence.

Curious predicament really.

Soon, the great wars of the banners would come, pitting the realms best fighters in organized combat.

Sutra made a mental note of attending the celebration. He had much to cover with the king.

The silent elf flinched for a moment before reaching under his left coat pocket. He needed to be reminded once in a while. The scroll rested securely against his heart.

It had been years since he originally received the sacred parchement. Sutra had managed to have the previous monarch consider signing it. It remained in his possesion, unsigned.

Perhaps this king would reconsider.

Sutra sighed as his mind lapsed to the tender grey eyes he had recently gazed into. She waited for him still.

It all felt like he was stirring from a dream.

A dream that would soon end.
