Unity – Strength - Honor
This reign we would like to focus on unifying our kingdom. With two great metropolitan areas and many outlying parks within an hour’s travel of these metro areas, I would like to direct our attention on rebuilding EH into a truly large modern kingdom. Starting at park level, the very foundation of our kingdom, I would like to see all the parks of The Emerald Hills continue to focus grow and bring our game to new people. Do demos at local game stores, movie theaters, and conventions. Utilize flyers and business cards to get more attention. Volunteer, this will help endear you to your local community. Sure, we have the Food Fight each September, but there are 11 other months of the year that your park can find a cause to champion. If you are doing this already, awesome, share what has been successful for you with your kingdom. It takes all of us work together and share ideas to help us grow. All of these will strengthen our Kingdom, raise attendance at our parks and in turn attendance at our inter-park events as well as raise attendance at Kingdom events.
We would also like to strengthen our bond with each of our parks. With that in mind we will have a reign long competition/quest where parks will accumulate points by completing different objectives from visiting other parks to creating complete monster garb for your favorite park monster. At the end of the reign a champion park crowned and presented awards.
This reign we would like to continue with a one day Mid Reign since we have several events throughout the fall months. We do not wish to make people choose between going to Kingdom Mid Reign or a Inter-Kingdom Event. With that in mind will look to hold Mid Reign at Banner or possibly doing a bid process among our parks to host Mid Reign.
A final word- Honor your fellow Amtgardians. We are all a part of this great game. We derive pleasure from it differently and individually. Whether you are a stick jock, a flurb, artisan, you name it. Remember it is the participation and camaraderie of all these people that make Amtgard the game and community that it is! In Service to the Dream,
Lord Bjorn Banhammer - Duke of Red Storm And Sir Qintahr Woodhelven - Duke of Midnight Sun

Lord Squire Bjorn, and particularly Sir Qintahr as the potential Regent, where do you stand on the major kingdom A&S and war tourneys happening at the camp events? How to you intend to make entry into these events fair for the whole of the kingdom?
While many of us understand, and like, that it grants easier access for the northern artisans, it does also create the issue of transport and/or paying to participate. Amtgard is known as a free-to-play game (though who knows how much each of us spend on supplies, heh), and restricting the tourney locations to camping events can create the issue for high level participants having to pay just to be there. At midreign there was the option of one-day-only entrants, who did not have to pay the gate fee. As well there is the controversy over the restriction on entry to Quals. Keep in mind that not every entry can be 'sent' with someone (bardic for example), and that not everything can be presented well in a camp environment (just as certain entries cannot be done at park, like fire spinning and vintners).
Did you consider these 'experiments' viable? How do you plan to handle these tournaments now that the whole of the kingdom must be included?

Also, are we able to turn this into a discussion with all of the candidates, or is this just for the platforms running from the Bjorn and Qintahr side?

I like the idea of holding both Dragonmaster and Weaponmaster at one event.
1. It provides us with another reason to bring our Kingdom as a whole together in one place at one time to interact with one another.
2. While we could split Dragonmaster between 2 days and have it hosted at one park in Texas and one park in Oklahoma/Arkansas, having all participants enter at one location and utilizing one set of judges has several advantages. This insures that there are no discrepancies in how judging is handled each day. It allows for us to having it at an event site that insures that we are able to include all A&S categories (For example - Vintner and Fire Spinning, as you noted, not being easily present at some sites or parks.) We do have to make sacrifices sometimes so that we are inclusive and in ever case those have been kept to a minimum or even been nonexistent.
3. Weaponmaster being held at one place on one day insures that all participants only have to travel to one place to participate in the tourney. Again if we split this between 2 days it means participants have to travel one of those days to participate in each day’s events to score well.
At its very basic level Amtgard is Free to Play. There is no cost to an individual to show up at their local park each week and participate. But if we, as the leaders of our parks and this kingdom, want our game to prosper and grow, we have to encourage individuals to invest in this game. That means investing in garb, weapons, A&S and attending events. Otherwise we are going to have parks full of peasants that will quickly grow bored with Amtgard and quit instead of seeing the grander opportunities this game offers them. . If people have any ambition at attaining higher level awards or recognition, travel to kingdom and inter-kingdom events are almost a must simply to have access to other high level artisans and fighters.
If we hold DM/WM at a camp event during the next reign I have no issue continuing to allowing people interested in only participating in DM/WM showing up the day of the tourneys , participating and then leaving.
As for restricting Quals to only individuals that are trying to qualify for Kingdom or park office, that decision I would leave up to the incoming Regent.

I will be honest in saying that my opponents wishes for the reign and mine are almost identical. In actuality, other than a theme, they are the same. I applaud my opponent and his platform.
