Heraldry:
Definition/Description:
Amtgard heraldry, displayed on whatever medium. Examples include scrolls, favors, banners or garb and entries must be described in heraldic terms as much as possible. For Heraldry the score is based two main elements. First, how appealing the design is to the eye and how well presented it is and second on how well the items fulfills the purpose of Heraldry. An item which is well made and beautiful that only happens to have a design on it would score less than an equally high quality item where the symbols displayed had meaning and relevance. Entrants in this category should do their homework before presenting the items.
Rose:
Definition/Description: Any entry whose principle function is to benefit the club. Examples include Awards blanks, newsletters, flyers, and websites.

Rules
1. Only the top two entries will count in each category toward your final score.
2. You must enter a minimum of 5 different categories In order to win the title of Dragonmaster XXX
3. Scoring will be the standard 5 point system with 3.5 being the standard for scoring.
4. There will be five judge’s scores per item with the highest and lowest scores thrown out and the other three scores averaged. This average score will be the determinant for the 5 point system. Multiple entries in a category will be averaged together after the judge’s scores have been figured. Example: Joe Snuffy enters two jewelry entries. His scores on one item are as follows: 3.5, 3.2, 4.1, 3.6, 3.5. The 4.1 and the 3.2 are thrown out. So the 3.5, 3.6, and 3.5 are added giving 10.6 this is then divided by 3 giving a total score of 3.5333 (3.5). He scores an average score of 3.8 on the other item. These two scores are added giving a total score for the category of 7.3 which is divided by 2 giving a final score for that category of 3.65. 3.5 is subtracted from this score to give Joe .15 points for that category which will be added to his other scores to give his final total.

There will be at least two OOK judges for this event. One judge will be from Dreadmoor, two judges will be from EH proper unless a third OOK judge is available. Emergency judges will be selected by me if necessary to fill empty slots.

All food entries must include an ingredient list (for allergy purposes) and a recipe would be nice…hehe. I might want to cook it myself later.

An agent will be designated to bring items to DragonmasterXXX from both the southern and northern portions of the kingdom if the entrant does not wish to enjoy the midreign festivities. In the event you do not wish to come to midreign, recordings of performance pieces will be accepted. All written entries must be submitted to me at brower@nsuok.edu two weeks prior to Dragonmaster in order to accelerate the judging process. Your written pieces will be given to the judges for them to read at their leisure prior to the event itself. This saves you having to print 5 copies and gives the judges more time to do more than just scan your written entries.

These plans are subject to minor changes should an emergency arise.

Just a reminder...written entries are due to my email brower@nsuok.edu or pm'd to me here no later than March 1. I have added a couple days to the deadline but no written entries will be excepted after this date.

Also, I will be at Weaponmaster this weekend to film any performance pieces should you wish to take advantage of this.
